Sharp MD-SS312

Available in MD-SS312-A (blue) and MD-SS312-H (gray)

１．Achieves continuous playback of about 10.5 hours, the longest in the industry, with an MD jacket size (included lithium-ion rechargeable battery)

• On the circuit side, we have newly developed a highly integrated read-only LSI that supports signal processing, decoder, RF digitization, digital servo, EMF processing, and decompression on a single chip. In addition, the power-saving design of each part enables continuous playback of 10.5 hours with a single rechargeable battery.
• We have adopted a high-performance lithium-ion rechargeable battery that does not have a “memory effect” and maintains stable performance even if it is recharged with the remaining battery capacity.
• The low-voltage design enables playback for approximately 6.5 hours with a single high-capacity alkaline AA battery (1.5V). (When using the included AA battery case)
• By using a lithium-ion rechargeable battery and AA batteries together, it is possible to play continuously for a long time of about 17 hours.
• By adopting the main body charging method, charging is possible simply by inserting the AC adapter into the main body. There is no need to remove the rechargeable battery from the main unit and charge it.

２．A slot-in method realizes a thin and compact size, and a robust design with an aluminum die-cast body.

• The easy-to-operate slot-in mechanism, which allows you to quickly insert and eject discs with a single action, has adopted a new mechanism (including a pickup) that moves up and down from the conventional MD cartridge system. Reduced to 69% of machine ratio. (mechanism chassis size reduced to 75% of MD cartridge)
• The body is made of aluminum alloy die-cast with a thickness of 1.2 mm, making it more than 2.5 times stronger than the previous model.

３．Equipped with the industry's first clock/alarm function, W shuttle and W liquid crystal display with improved operability (SS312)

• You can check the current time when operating the remote control, and if you set a meeting time, etc., the alarm will sound to inform you of the time.
• The clock is on the liquid crystal in the back, and the MD information is displayed in the transparent liquid crystal in the front.
• Built-in W shuttle function that allows easy one-handed operation with two shuttles for basic operations such as playback / song selection / volume.
• It has a backlight so you can see the display even in the dark. (common to SS311/SS312)
• The headphone section is detachable, so you can connect commercially available large headphones to enjoy even more powerful sound. (common to SS311/SS312)

• In terms of the main body design, we have responded to the diversification of user tastes and made it possible to select products according to TPO and one's own fashion.
