MD-MT832 variant comes with Kanji-capable remote.

Uses Sharp's 7th Generation ATRAC.

１． The world's smallest and thinnest MD portable recorder (as of July 1999)

• The number of parts has been reduced by making the chassis mechanism and recording head thinner, by making the motor smaller, and by efficiently arranging and consolidating the main parts. , Approximately 14% more compact in terms of thinness, realizing the world's smallest and thinnest size among MD portable recorders.

２． Approximately 26 hours of continuous playback, the longest in the world for an MD portable recorder (when using a rechargeable battery and a single AA alkaline battery, as of July 1999)

• The ATRAC LSI, which can be said to be the heart of the MD, adopts a newly developed 7th generation recording/reproducing LSI of the 0.25 μm process low power consumption type using the latest technology. In addition to reducing system power consumption due to high-speed disk rotation, the pickup and mechanism are designed to save power.
• The world's longest continuous playback time of approximately 26 hours and continuous recording time of approximately 14 hours is possible using a lithium-ion rechargeable battery and a single AA battery. In addition, the world's longest continuous playback time of approximately 14.5 hours and continuous recording time of approximately 9.5 hours has been achieved with a single rechargeable battery.
• The low-voltage design enables operation with a single high-capacity alkaline AA battery (1.5V), and when the rechargeable lithium-ion battery is stored, continuous playback for approximately 11.5 hours and continuous recording for approximately 4.5 hours are possible. is.

３． The world's first MD portable recorder Charging stand that can be easily charged just by placing it

• Comes with a charging stand that can be charged quickly and easily by placing the main unit. It can be easily charged like a mobile phone.
• Adopts a high-performance lithium-ion rechargeable battery that does not have a “memory effect” and maintains stable performance even if it is recharged with the remaining battery capacity.
• Floating charging system that allows recording and playback while charging.
• The charging stand is made of skeleton material and is designed to match the interior of your room.

４． The world's first MD portable recorder supports kanji display

• If you connect a kanji display remote control, you can easily see character information such as song titles entered in kanji and hiragana, as well as the conventional display of kana, alphanumeric characters, and symbols.
• (The MT832 comes with a Kanji display remote control, and the MT831 is sold separately.)
• 5 kanji and hiragana characters, and 10 half-width characters such as kana and alphanumeric characters are displayed at once.
• With a slim vertical type & W shuttle function, it is easy to grip and can be easily operated with one hand.
• Since it is equipped with a backlight, the display can be easily checked even in dark places.

５． World's first PC link & Zaurus link function in MD portable recorder

• By connecting the separately sold “MD-PC connection cable (AD-PCR1)” or “MD-Zaurus connection cable (AD-ZAR1)”, you can use a PC or Zaurus to input and edit characters.
• It also supports program playback that allows you to play tracks in the order you like, and program movement that allows you to rearrange the order of tracks in the order that you like.
• The PC link also supports library management and label printing. With the label printing function, 8 types of background patterns are prepared in advance, and it is also possible for the user to use images taken with a digital camera as labels. A new way of enjoying MD spreads.

※ Each application software can be downloaded free of charge from the Sharp website .

６． The world's first digital recording level control function in an MD portable recorder

• CD software has different recording levels, and BS audio broadcasts, digital CS broadcasts, and LDs tend to have lower recording levels than CDs. increase. By adjusting and editing the levels during recording, you can create discs with uniform levels, so you can enjoy music at the same volume level during playback.

７． The world's first fade-in/out recording function in an MD portable recorder

• You can gradually increase the recording level to start recording, or gradually decrease it to end recording, so you can start and end recording in the middle of a song with a natural feel.
• During recording, the end of the MD disc is detected, and the recording level can be gradually lowered automatically (each fade time can be switched in three stages).

８． Approximately 40 seconds of “sound skipping guard memory” that is resistant to external vibrations

９． Fashionable and convenient hand strap

１０． Built-in sampling rate converter

• Using the separately sold “digital sound card (AD-AJ2)” and “optical digital cable (AD-M2DC)”, you can directly digitally edit Internet music information that can be obtained through a personal computer.
• Digital editing is possible directly from a CS tuner or BS tuner (with an optical digital output terminal) using an optional “optical digital cable (AD-M1DC)”.

１１． Suitable for business use such as meetings and lecture recordings

• “Micro sync function”
• Recording starts automatically in response to sound or voice. In addition, it senses silence for 3 seconds or more and pauses, so you can use the disc without wasting it.
• “2x fast playback function”
• You can listen to discs recorded in monaural long-time double recording mode at twice the normal speed.
• “Time auto mark function” (3-step switching of 3 minutes / 5 minutes / 10 minutes) The
• cue point can be automatically recorded at regular intervals, which can be used as a guide during playback.
• “Monaural long-time double recording function”
• In monaural mode, MD recording time can be doubled.

１２． “Character stamp function” that can easily edit character information from MD to MD

• When editing from MD to MD, you can stamp the entire character information of the master MD after recording the sound.

１３． High sound quality design focused on sound quality

• The ATRAC section, which compresses and expands the sound that is the core of MD sound quality, employs a 24-bit arithmetic method and a three-dimensional (time axis/frequency axis/amplitude direction) adaptive bit allocation algorithm to produce clear, extended high-pitched sounds. achieved sound quality.
• Equipped with a high-performance 20-bit AD/DA converter that enables more faithful recording from CDs and achieves high-quality recording/playback even with minute-level signals.
• The digital system X-BASS is adopted for the deep bass reproduction, and you can enjoy powerful deep bass with little noise.

１４． CD sound synchronized recording for digital/analog

１５． Convenient playback functions such as random playback, random repeat playback, all-track/single-track repeat
